Chen Wang is a neuroscientist at Columbia University who studies how genetics shapes nervous system development across both sexes in C. elegans. She led the most comprehensive neurotransmitter atlas of any organism (eLife, 2024), directed the mapping of the DMRT family of genes in sexual differentiation (Science Advances, 2026), and is a core contributor to CeNGEN, a landmark whole-nervous-system atlas project. Alongside her research, she is a committed advocate for interdisciplinary science and early-career mentorship, having organized an interdisciplinary symposium on sex and gender, mentored students from over two dozen countries, and served on the boards of the American Association for University Women's NYC Metro chapter and the Graduate Career Consortium's Professional Development Committee.
