PhD · Founder & Chief Scientific Officer of Mblue Labs
Dr. Kan Cao is a leading aging scientist, inventor, and professor whose research is helping us understand what happens to our bodies as we age—and what emerging science may teach us about staying healthier longer. For more than two decades at the University of Maryland, Dr. Cao has studied aging at the
cellular level, beginning with one of the world’s rarest premature-aging diseases. Her discoveries now span Alzheimer’s and brain aging, cellular longevity, and the age-related changes we see in our skin and hair.
Her laboratory’s research also uncovered the potential of methylene blue to address biological signs of skin aging, including mitochondrial bioenergetics, redox homeostasis, and cellular resilience, leading to patented applications and the founding of Mblue Labs and Bluelene®.
As a scientist, inventor, professor, entrepreneur, and Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors, Dr. Cao offers an evidence-based perspective on the exploding longevity movement, including what science actually tells us about aging, brain health, skin and hair changes, and the difference between promising discoveries and longevity hype.
