Emmy and Gracie Allen Award-winning director Abby Epstein has spent decades telling stories about women's bodies and the transitions that shape their lives. Her landmark documentary The Business of Being Born, co-produced with Ricki Lake, helped revolutionize the conversation around childbirth in America; her later films include The Business of Birth Control and the Netflix documentary Weed the People. As Resident Director of RENT on Broadway and The Vagina Monologues Off Broadway, she staged tours across North America and Europe. Today she leads The Midlife Collective, where she is co-directing the documentary Her Second Act with Constance Zimmer and collaborating with her on The Midlife Monologues, a docu-theater project aimed at shattering the silence surrounding midlife.
