Louann Brizendine, M.D., neuropsychiatrist, is the founder of the UCSF Women’s Mood and Hormone Clinic and the Lynne and Marc Benioff Professor of clinical psychiatry at UCSF. She completed her degree in Neurobiology at UC Berkeley, graduated from Yale School of Medicine and did her internship and residency at Harvard Medical School. She is board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology and served on both the faculties of Harvard University and University of California at San Francisco. Her NY Times Best Seller: The Female Brain and its follow-up, The Male Brain continue to be read around the world and THE UPGRADE: How the Female Brain Gets Stronger and Better in Midlife and Beyond, is according to Jane Fonda: “This is an important book.
