Carla Koren is based in Oakland California and is a Managing Director for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. Together with her team of 9 investment professionals including 4 CFP’s (Certified Financial Planner), Carla provides comprehensive wealth planning for high net-worth families with investment and consulting services which include:  Goals-based and intergenerational financial planning which includes budgeting/cash flow management, education planning, retirement planning, investment advice, guidance with liability management, and assistance with trust, estate, and legacy planning.  Investment guidance and solutions include cash management, traditional equity and interest rate risk management, access to alternatives and private market offerings, and strategies for control, restricted securities, and concentrated holdings -- all with a keen focus on tax management and tax efficiency  Access to tailored lending programs to assist with real estate acquisitions and other specialized investment opportunities  Insurance solutions including life, long-term care, excess liability, and property and casualty insurance which has become more critical in today’s challenging market  Fiduciary and Trust support services  Cost/expense analyses  Family Governance and Wealth Education  Philanthropic Services Carla is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of UCLA (magna cum laude) and received her MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. She obtained her Certified Investment Analyst (CIMA) designation through the Wharton School of Business, is a Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC), and a member of the Association of Professional Investment Consultants (APIC), and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Based on her years of experience, training and education, Carla has earned numerous Morgan Stanley director titles: Family Wealth Director, Corporate Retirement Plan Director, Investing with Impact Director, Lending and Alternatives Specialist and Senior Investment Management Consultant. In addition to her work as a financial advisor, Carla is dedicated to community stewardship with a focus on early literacy education and programs which help children and their families from under-served communities develop skills and tools necessary for economic empowerment, self-sufficiency and, hopefully, financial independence. Her volunteer work includes Board leadership roles with Safe Passages, Girls Inc. of Alameda County, Super Stars Literacy and the Junior League of Oakland East Bay, Inc. of which she was President. Over the years, Carla has been recognized both locally and nationally for her voluntarism. In 2014 she received the Jefferson Award, which is sometimes referred to as the “Nobel Prize for public service” because it is the nation’s highest honor for public service.
